Taking the Day to Say 'Thank You' To Our HR Team

Written by Ally Pulskamp | September 25, 2020

Saturday, September 26th is National Human Resources Day. If your HR department is anything like ours, they've been working tirelessly—especially these past few months. Not only have they been communicating new practices and procedures to keep employees safe and informed, our HR department has also been looking for new ways to boost employee morale.

We've recently been releasing a series of interviews with Angela Sebesy, Brennan's Global Director of Human Resources, North America. In these interviews, Angela talks about ways in which the company has been adapting to new rules and regulations to keep business operating in the safest way possible. Paying attention to new protocols is just one part of a bigger role HR has played throughout all of this. It's also their job to effectively communicate these new rules, educate employees on best health and safety practices, and be available for any questions or concerns employees may have.

"We have really great employees here, and everyone has adapted so well. We're really trying to help people feel connected: using our employee newsletter to put more information out there, posting more photos. We had a cookout here at our corporate facility. We spaced the tables with social distancing in mind. We also had the catering company make sure they had their masks and gloves on the whole time, and all the food was prepackaged so employees felt safe. I also maintain an open door policy. Our employees can come talk to me at any time"
