Industry-wide, sustainability has become a critical focus following the 2021 launch of the London Declaration, ISO’s Climate Commitment, which outlines the global push for climate-conscious business practices such as carbon neutral ‘net zero’ leading up to 2050. This shift is already influencing supply chain decisions, industry certifications, and how manufacturers engage with partners and customers.
A key part of our ongoing sustainability efforts includes the achievements of ISO certifications and implementations company wide. Most recently, our US and UK teams have achieved ISO 14001:2015, which focuses on environmental management systems, and ISO 45001:2018, which prioritizes occupational health and safety. These certifications reinforce our dedication to environmental responsibility and workplace safety, demonstrating our proactive approach to global sustainability goals. These sustainability efforts will directly impact all customers globally who receive products from our UK and US locations.
To align with these evolving standards, Brennan has introduced biodegradable shrink wrap for shipments from our USA and Canadian facilities. We are also actively sourcing sustainable packaging solutions for our UK, Mexico, and Brazil operations. Additionally, we continue to explore further eco-friendly initiatives, including biodegradable protective caps for our fittings.
Importantly, this shift to biodegradable shrink wrap comes at no added cost to our customers. Brennan has rigorously tested our new material to ensure it matches the strength and durability of traditional plastic shrink wrap. While designed to be recycled, if the material ends up in landfills, it will break down naturally, reducing long-term environmental impact. This change reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality products while supporting our customers in meeting their own sustainability goals.
