# Brennan Celebrates Upcoming Safety Week and Global Safety Initiatives

****SOLON, Ohio, August 12, 2024 – Brennan Industries, Inc. (Brennan) announces a week dedicated to promoting workplace safety and employee well-being from August 12th to August 16th in collaboration with [OSHA’s Safe and Sound Week](https://www.osha.gov/safeandsoundweek/). This year, Safe and Sound Week aligns with National Wellness Month, allowing Brennan to emphasize commitment to overall wellness.
“Safety and wellness go hand in hand, and at Brennan. We continuously strive to create an environment where our employees feel safe and supported,” said Rob Ward, VP of Operations at Brennan. “Beyond Safe and Sound Week, we incorporate these initiatives year-round across all our locations, implementing the value of physical and mental well-being into our culture.”
Although the upcoming Safe and Sound Week is nationally focused, Brennan emphasizes safety at its global locations throughout the year. Last quarter, Brennan’s facility in Mississauga, Canada, participated in a program offered through [WSIB](https://www.wsib.ca/en) for [Health and Safety Excellence](https://www.wsib.ca/en/healthandsafety), where employees implemented five new health and safety procedures, including first aid and safety communication protocols. Additionally, at Brennan’s newest facility in [Querétaro, Mexico](https://blog.brennaninc.com/brennan-announces-mexico-facility), management is completing a study of operations as required by the government, reinforcing the company's commitment to safety and compliance globally.
**Safety Week Schedule:**
**Day 1 (8/12):** Workplace Stress**
Addressing workplace stress and its impacts, employees will be encouraged to review stressors and explore available outlets for managing stress.
**Day 2 (8/13):** Ergonomics
Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders by covering proper lifting, bending, and reaching techniques.
**Day 3 (8/14):** *Powered Industrial Trucks*
Focus on safe lift truck operation, including horn use and right-of-way protocols.
**Day 4 (8/15):**
**Focus:** Slips, Trips, and Falls
Cover proper ladder usage, safe walking on skids, skid storage, and working around elevated docks.
**Day 5 (8/16):** Emergency Planning
Operation Managers will conduct a fire, tornado, or earthquake drill, review clear path exit routes and potential cluster points.
**National Wellness Month Activities:**
This past July, Brennan hosted a Wellness Bingo event where employees participated in activities such as taking a screen-free hour, trying new healthy recipes, and aiming for 7-9 hours of sleep each night. These wellness initiatives have been extended into August to promote long-term healthy habits among staff.
